Colorado Pedestrian and Bicycle Counts

Average Counts Category Map This interactive map is derived from the Bicycle and Pedestrian Counts which reports counts by hour and by direction of travel (N/S, E/W, NE/SW, NW/SE), and currently updated to the Colorado Information Marketplace every March. The map below has summarized the average counts per day to produce this categorized map of stations and their activity over time. Hovering over each point will give the station name and actual average count.

Colorado Pedestrian and Bicycle Counts

Category Torque Map This interactive map is derived from the Bicycle and Pedestrian Counts and was summarized to the total counts per day for consecutive days throughout 2013-2014 to produce this categorized map of stations and their activity over time. Viewing at the scale of the entire state at zoom level 7 shows how different stations have different ridership and activity over time. Zooming in to level 10 or 11 you can start to see activity at individual stations. CDOT reports the data on an hourly basis, but for this particular example, we summarized the data to the day to show intensity of daily activity over the course of two months. So the fluctuation of color is showing change in ridership or pedestrian traffic by day, red and yellow being lower counts on through green, blue and purple for higher counts.
